千五百二十四: お腹いっぱい

Mom cooked my fav salted vege duck soup today and I gouged myself on it until i couldn't eat anymore. 3 plates of rice and 2 bowls of soup later, I could not stand up and was only able to sit contentedly and look abit dazedly at the soup left. of cos my tummy was abit bigger than usual after the meal, and it felt weird, but .. what a wonderful meal. :D

I'm rewatching Pride all over again. It never fails to bring tears to my eyes everytime i see the episode where the irritating (& not handsome) ex-bf comes in and snatches Aki away from Halu. grrrr!!

千五百二十三: The Nanny Diaries

Woke up happily late at 10am this morning.

I had to do a bunch of chores and had just planned on lazing at home but in the end went out for a movie with ZC after my chores. The weather on Saturdays is always disgustingly humid and hot. and the buses take forever to come.

I gave myself 2 books for a birthday present at Kino before meeting my cousin, and he gave me a treat at Sushi Tei for lunch and the movie. We went to watch Nanny diaries, alot of Mary Poppins spoofs in it but pretty good show. abit like The Devil wears prada, but this time the evil boss is the kid's mom. the guy she falls in love with is pretty cute too. But maybe a little too much narration, esp about anthropology. that part I didn't really understand. I had liked the book so was pretty excited to catch the show. I'm a sucker for chick lit.. was wondering throughout the show who the cute guy was, cos he looks so familiar, just suddenly realised that he was Johnny Storm in Fantastic 4. :D & he's only 1 year older than me!! :D

After that had dinner with my family at Boon Tong Kee. Dinner on saturdays with my parents is getting to be a routine affair, reasons for it being I get to save money yet have a good meal, and the parents are happy that we choose to spend time with them instead of eating out with friends (even though I practically try to eat everyday at home nowadays during weekdays as well anyway).

Came home and spoke to ryo on skype for a while, didn't realise I was so troubled by certain issues until i started crying with him trying to comfort me over the phone. :( but it felt good that this time i wasn't crying cos we quarreled or wat, but with his comforting voice it helped calm me down a little. sighz. i miss him.

The blisters on my feet seem to be healing, all dried up and forming scab but its so red that it looks like its bleeding profusely and perpetually.

oh.. my colleague asked me to join in a show she was modeling for (some artsy type of show so its not pretty fasion but just a show case of weird but interesting works from the description) cos they still needed one more person so I agreed. :D wonder what it will be like..

千五百二十一: Triple 3

Today had a bday treat from J, he brought me to Triple 3 at Meritus Mandarin hotel cos i had such a oyster craving. :D

Oyster shells
3 out of the 13 I ate

the oysters were very fresh, I ate 13 of them (abit too much??) then also ate quite abit of sashimi. They had bamboo clam, laksa, lobster bisque, sushi, alot of desserts out of which i ate the chocolate fondue, strawberry cake, cream puffs, chunky monkey flavoured ice cream (which is actually banana).

ok in another half hour plus i'll be 25 liao.. :D hope more good things come my way this coming birthday week.

千五百二十: Blisters

My heels (the heels on my leg, not what i wear) are very prone to blisters. Maybe the skin there is too thin. even through stockings etc, the blisters become as big as 10 cent coins when i wear pumps. but I realise covered pointed heels (pumps) makes me look more adultish/elegant. (ok i realised that in Japan oso but my toes/heels really couldn't take them... ) how how how! these kind of things can't practise one, you will kill your feet with the continual creation of blisters. and I was practically screaming in the bathroom when the water ran over both blisters on the heels of both feet. argh.

千五百十九: 中秋節 & Mom's bday

昨日二重祝いだった。

Celebrated mom's bday and this year it happens to fall on Mid-autumn festival. We went to Bali Thai at IMM, and, Bali Thai's food is really super spicy. but it was very good!!

Food we ate:
  • Assam Fish Head - very worth it and very delicious
  • 冬粉salad (Tung Hoon) - very spicy and sour, shiok!
  • scallop steamed with otah - scallop abit hard, otah had corn inside (yuck!!) not nice ..
  • and endless free flow refill of steamed rice. :D

after that came home and slept quite early cos of something quite impt thats happening. & i was really feeling quite exhausted. will know the result next week.

千五百十八: Conduroy & Finch

Holiday today!

Ran some errands in the morning before the mosaic class, so had to force myself to wake up b4 10am. It does not feel good to have to wake up to the alarm clock on a Public Holiday.

Went to collect my air tix from the Malaysia Airlines ticketing office at Clemenceau, next to Park Mall. So troublesome! They do online sales but they don't have e-tickets?! seriously they should try to improve their system! the tix was only $570 but the taxes $360+ . Crazy la.

After that decided to walk back across to HSBC next to PS to try my new Debit Card for the Powervantage account. As expected, the pin number was not the old number, and I hadn't received the new number so the card didn't work. For the few seconds, I thought they had swallowed my card. phew. Since there weren't much people, went into the bank to queue for the teller to ask her to get me a new PIN since I didn't receive the previous one. There was one very difficult customer before me, and it was kind of unprofessional for the teller to be rolling her eyes at the customer's back as he left, even though I could see how she was really put on the spot by him. but, she should have just maintained her smiling face throughout.. I tried to be nicer to her as I could see she just had a rough time but she should learn to be more professional in her facial expressions. She handled my request pretty well, I managed to reach the bus stop and wait less than 5 min for the bus to come and then be early in reaching the class at Bukit Timah Plaza.

This week I made mosaic designs on mugs i bought from ikea, and unfortunately they turned out not so good. I haven't a very clear idea of what to make i guess, which caused the first one to be kinda weird, and maybe I'll give the 2nd one to Ryo instead. A fun 5 hour class again, this time 2 more colleagues joined us. After the lesson, we (郷さん、吉岡さん & me) went to Conduroy and Finch at 6th Ave for dinner. Very good food there! but very ex... this weekend think i spent like my whole month's food budget liaoz. We had a good chat there, sat there from 7.00pm until 9.30pm discussing life and guys. 郷さん was giving me looks when 吉岡さん mentioned the FTE space in the Japan team, and I pretended not to see it. hehe. well. a fun holiday in all, and looking forward to the osaka trip soon. :D

千五百十七: I now Pronounce you Chuck & Larry

5 stars!! Adam Sandler's shows are always so funny. with some underlying moral of course. this is about homosexuals and how they are discriminated by the straight people..

I wasn't planning to go out today, but at about noon, I saw 郷さん online and asked if she wanted to watch a movie with me. She agreed to my surprise, so I met her after her English lesson and we went to watch this at Plaza Singapura. We shared a popcorn combo/nachos and thoroughly enjoyed laughing ourselves silly. After that, we walked around and saw Sakae Teppanyaki so we ate there for dinner. My first time eating teppanyaki ever. it was not bad, and then HSBC had a discount somemore (10%) so it was quite ok. I haven't gone out in a while with a friend properly for an outing liao, so was trying not to think so much about my budget. We set there eating teppanyaki and discussing about other people sitting around us in Japanese. kekeke. it was fun. and I didn't know that a few pieces of meat and stuff could be so filling. I had the Chicken set (which included salmon and oyster, so strange) and she had the Seafood set. I think I'll try the beef set next time, it looked very good when other people at the table had it (cos it included foie gras!!) and price is about $20 per person for the set meal so I think its quite ok. After that, walked around abit more and then we settled ourselves at starbucks, and chatted there. Confided in her about some issues, and got her advice. hmmmm. see how things go bah.

finally reached home at about 11pm, saw the same person on the bus i used to see on the bus a few times when I took the bus at this timing. I recognise him cos he is always holding a novel when he boards the bus. so weird.

千五百十六: Pasta de Waraku

So happy, the girls from the office celebrated my birthday early! we went to Pasta de waraku at Central and I ordered my craving Cod Roe Pasta (明太子)It was goood. They gave me a pendant from Agnes b as a present and prepared a bday cake with 2 large candles and 3 small candles and sang me a song. I actually felt quite touched as it has been quite long since anyone has done that for me besides my family. silly me. Many things were running through my head when they told me to make a wish and then I was like thinking "ok , only if i blow out the candles in 1 breath i can make everything come true" and i managed to do it :D I had gone to ikea with 郷さん、浅井さん、五十嵐さん for lunch and some looksee for mosaic class and i got the girls a set of finger puppets. actually it was 1 pack and everyone got to pick 1 sea creature as a return gift. I guess I chose something right, cos they were so happy with it.

okie, here are the people who made the night happen:

千五百十五: Long day

Another long day until 9pm at the office. It's the 2nd day in a row with lunch meeting (training) session & the day is super super long w/o a break in between to walk abit around outside. But there's lunch with Go-san & some other Japanese ladies at ikea tomorrow to look forward to finally, and an early birthday celebration with the other girls. at least i managed to get all the test cases done, and passed 88% of them. YAY!! :)

ok i really am going to faint soon. nitez.

千五百十四: GV4

I dunno why, feeling very tired until I was having giddy spells throughout the day as I talked to users when i was trying to solve their problems. ECM UAT is stretching way too long, and the lead is really a b*tch w/o checking out things properly before giving sarcastic replies. sighz. and I've become so paranoid about missing early meetings/not having enough time to finish the tests that I've acquired the bad habit of checking the office emails from home every night before I sleep so that issues can be followed up by the EOC (europe)/AOC (US) side while we sleep and we go to work with the problems already resolved.

We finally settled the 年末年始 (New Year) Air tix. We managed to get 5 people in the office who wants to go Osaka on the same date (28-Dec to Jan 6, 2008) since we have the same long unofficial new year holidays and we got the tix today. yay :) GV4 promotion by SQ, the price dropped another $5 today, strangely, and we got our tix for $850 each in the end. phew. everyone was so excited then we were choosing seats. so weird they dun seem to mind sitting next to strangers. I did not like the fact that I might have a chance of sitting next to old men who take up the whole seat again. phew. so everything is settled finally, about half the seats in the plane is gone liao, everyone who wants to get end of year tix better hurry.

ok had work at 7.30am this morning, worked til 9pm in the evening, so am super exhausted. good nite.

千五百十三: Mosaic!

Candy popgold & brownBlue & purplecarrotDSC00496DSC00497

I joined a Mosaic class with Yoshioka-san and 2 other girls from the office yesterday :) it was sooo fun! ok I enjoyed it, cos I enjoy crafts basically. so I made all these mini photo frames. (not the frames, just the designs on them). that was how I spent my day yesteday basically. 5 hours at Bukit Timah plaza making these.

then today was back to work. Swamped with this and that and everything else, and on top of it, organising the airticket group for the end of year New year trip to Japan. trying to get the GV4 promo price, at least 4 people had to fly on the same dates, so of cos was trying to rally people from the Japan team as we had holidays from 28th Dec until 6th Jan. (unofficial public holidays!! yay!) Suddenly we had 4 from only 2 (me and the new guy in my team) then after lunch one more girl asked if it was too late to join. of cos not! the more the merrier! osaka people are hard to come by here, most of the people are from tokyo.

So we'll buy our tix tomorrow, didn't realise need their passport details so I asked them to check their details tonite. :D

and then tomorrow i'm on the morning 7.30am shift for quarterend.. so.. good nite!

千五百十二: New Haircut

I cut my hair today..
new haircut!
short fringe!

I went to JB with 4 other japanese colleagues born in the year of the sheep today. (yeah they actually gathered all the sheep year people for the outing, I was the odd one out.) We went city square, watched Knocked Up (which was hilarious by the way) with popcorn and a softdrink for 11Ringgit, then we went around on our own and i got myself a haircut. for 58 ringgit. (about $30?) which is super cheap in a salon by a senior stylist. ok the bangs are abit weird, i'm really not used to them yet. today was quite fast, the trip through the customs etc had no queue at all. & we checked that eyelash perm is about 48 ringgit. ($20+) Us girls are definitely going to head back there again for all the cheaper services. :p

We ended the day having dinner at Bukit Timah Plaza. The taiwanese delicacies on the 2nd floor was pretty good. Very polite boss oso. ok am very exhausted from the whole day of being on the edge for fear of being robbed or pickpocketed or stabbed. good nite.

千五百十一: Facebook

I also hopped on the facebook bandwagon. hehe. i guess the fun is not really to add as many frens as u can but in the applications inside where u can throw sheep at ur fren. (that's my favourite action anyway).

today shinji,me & yoshioka-san played Mario Kart on DS in the office after working hours. I lost to shinji after 10+ races, but about 1 rank. sianz. but it was very fun. Finally the long weekend is here. Will be heading to JB with some colleagues on sunday and then monday an afternoon mosaic making class with some of the japanese ladies as well.

nitezz.

千五百十: Spot Reverser

Ryo bought this for me from Kansai DFS, the spot reverser lotion & it seems to be working quite well. oh shit. I only just saw the price in the link I found from Google. 13000円 = S$170. ouch. I didn't know it cost so much.. Must use it alot more sparingly liao..

long weekend as Monday is a PH. finally a chance to sleep in later than my family members.

千五百〇九: Spiderweb

I thought I had stepped into another web of lies when I saw something I wasn't told about. Luckily I kept my calm and asked properly about what happened and it wasn't covered up or anything. After that I felt quite remorseful for having such intense emotions upon seeing the photo, but "never ask so I never said" is not a policy that sits very well with me.

I went to work for a 8am meeting only to see the meeting gone from my schedule and I was thinking I didn't see wrongly last night when I realised the bugger who organised the meeting had changed the schedule during Europe working hours, late AFTER Singapore working hours to say she can't join at the original time at 6PM PST because it would be 2AM in Europe. and she changed the time after our working hours, meaning we didn't noe about the change until we reached the office in the morning. DUH!!! how stupid can these people get??! and she rescheduled the meeting for our 5pm - 6pm. Meaning I had to stay an extra half hour even though I already came to work super early. ARGH!!!!!

ok i feel better now that i've let the steam out. Got my card today & I'm quite irritated the card is like so scratched. (Maybe the card issuing centre anyhow keep the cards and just scratch them all over the place? or the person doing the name embossing totally CMI!!) sianz. nvm, will ask for a replacement card when I really can't stand it. They should make their card hardier. So easily scratched, how to look like a premier card?? they make it look like we got no good wallet to keep the card in good condition instead. humph.

千五百〇八: B for Bravery

勇ましい。

That's me today.

hehehehe.

I saw one of the rare occasions when Mr B was online on the office IM today and w/o thinking about the consequences, I double-clicked on his name, typed "Hi" in the open window and pressed the Enter key on the keyboard before realising what I did. oops... Felt abit stupid after that, what if its the wrong person? What if he ignores me? what if he doesn't know who i am? argh! the stupid things i do. Luckily, he responded by saying Hi, and we had a very mundane but safe chat. Just normal stuff like how long u been working here, how old u are etc. phew. I wanted to grin from ear to ear after that, but managed to keep that in check and not think about the whole thing until I reach home when it would have been diluted abit by time liao.

Another happy thing, I managed to get my Citi PremierMiles card! Finally some card useful to my travels, should have waited to get my ticket to Japan on this card instead. :( and no, my income level is just the normal 30k, nothing near the 80K minimum income required, but I think cos they just launched the card not long, trying to expand their customer base so me & my colleague got the card despite our income. So if you are a frequent flyer on several airlines (basically if you usually buy whatever's cheapest which can't accrual mileage on the programs directly), it makes sense to get those miles on the card with no expiry date and then to convert all the miles in 1 SQ tix to somewhere. Now is the time to apply!! (only if its useful for u, the annual fee is abit steep at $180/yr, only the first year is free). Well can foresee much travelling this year, will try out the card for the first year to see if it suits me. :D

千五百〇七: Mindless Chatter

it's 10-Sep!

10-09-07

ok i'm just being boliao.

cos it's only 18 more days to my birthday :)

& 24 days more to flying off again. :D

Was just surfing the net when i only just realised that Halle Berry is already 41 years old. ?!?! Can you believe it? 41 years old with such a hot body and face? wooooow! & I found a website full of handsome guys, pretty boys & very toned bods. Even though most of the pics make me drool over them, I also think that the site is probably not meant for girls to be drooling over.. keke. If you feel embarrassed to be looking at the pictures, read the dialogue the blog authors wrote. Its really quite funny. hehehe.

I had a terrible tummyache today, alot of gas and went to the loo alot of times, and hiccupped for a few times too many as well. Felt so weak the whole day. Came home to find my sister suffering the same fate. I wonder what we ate wrong yesterday?

A new guy from Osaka joined the office today. He's a full time employee however. He looks like Mr B, will call him Mr OB from now on. (O for Osaka.. hehehe) but OB sounds like a gynae, I'll think of something nicer soon. :D

千五百〇六: The Lost Room

The Lost Room (from the SciFi Channel)

Finally began watching the sci-fi miniseries The Lost Room. For those who have cable at home, it's showing on Star World. Its so eerie. Not in the horror kind of way, but the X-files way. But the whole concept of the Objects and the Room and how things work is really very intriguing. But I wished that they gave a clearer explanation of how the Event happened and why the room is lost. All my information of the room is currently from Wikipedia, and I need to keep referring back to the page to keep reminding myself what the different Objects in the show does. Only at the 2nd episode now, hope he finds his missing daughter in the 3rd & final episode.

I trimmed my right eyebrow a little too thin at the end and now i look really weird. argh. I dun think I'll draw in the missing part with a brow pencil though, cos i'm lazy to do that in the morning half asleep b4 work and I think it looks alright now (?) hmm. maybe I'm just deluding myself.

The Thai trip brought us (me&Ryo) alot closer, especially since we haven't met for about 5 months. After the trip, the number of emails from him is on the rise, and he sms-es me alot more than before. :) and the trip made me realise how stupid I was being on alot of other matters as well. Can't wait to see him in less than a month's time.

I think this is a very cute picture of him bracing himself against the fish :p

千五百〇五: 1408

Disturbing. Well done Mr King (stephen king)!

At first I thought it was a typical horror story, and it didn't help that when the first scene of one of the spooks suddenly appearing coincided with my handphone vibrating inside my bag. I jumped & let out an involuntary shriek (very softly) but realised it was just my phone. phew

i must emphasise: The show is not horror!! the horrors are all in the mind. The evil room made the occupants mad, made the occupants want to kill themselves to escape, but the room could not kill the occupants, it could only hurt them. The show was about him trying to survive the room at first but towards the end, he was fighting it and trying to win when he gave up thoughts of surviving but rather, not letting the room win. Very cool.

the wire came out from my braces again. -.- Have to head down to the dentist later this evening. sighz. very irritated by that.

千五百〇四: ARGH!!!

So stupid!!

I was so zonked out at the end of work today I didn't realise I had left my housekeys in the office and I had to wait outside the house for over an hour cos no one was home. Tired, hungry and suffering from the monthly pains, I was so angry at myself for being so dumb. Especially when I had tried to leave earlier from work so that I can rest earlier tonight after 3 8am workdays in a row. BUT i had to forget my keys. argh.

I'm pooped now, but trying to squeeze in abit of Japanese revision before I go to bed. zzz. even ANTM is putting me to sleep. zzzz. nitez.

千五百〇三: Ratatouille

Ratatouille was soooooo funny!!!

it's probably one of those movies I'll watch again. super super funny, and I laughed until my throat hurt. & the rat is sooooo cute. It almost makes you forget they are pests. :s

MUST WATCH!!

千五百〇二: あざーす

new vocab: あざーす
short form for ありがとうございます

Today I was suffering from cramps. Dunno is it due to the pills I took during the holiday, I'm suffering particularly bad backaches and cramps this month. and very very bloated feeling. bleahz.

Dental fees has increased by $7 (for GST) every month from this month onwards. Oh I went to the dentist today. He suggested i put a bridge for the gaps that will happen after my braces are taken out cos I will have no back teeth in future. The price he quoted was preposterous though. I would rather use the money for Lasik. hehe.

Is thinking up how to maximise interest growing at least for the funds I gotta pay for the HSBC savings plans.

Ryo is on a plane heading towards New York right now. sighz. I miss him.

Ratatouille event tomorrow! so excited.

Ok wild mood swings have tired me out. nitez.

千五百〇一: OT

First day back on work after a long holiday and the emails are just neverending. :(

Only reached home at nearly 11pm cos today is the first day of UAT and I gotta clear as many test cases as I can since I've a dental apptment tml evening & the Ratatouille movie event on Wed evening. argh.

gd nite.

forgot to add that we received 2 postcards from my sis; 1 when she was in Vatican City and 1 from Italy. they were hilarious and made the whole family laugh. Thank u :)

& that mr B had a haircut and wore a pink shirt today. he looks thinner than he was a week ago. Maybe its his hair?

We got a new colleague in our team as well. His name is 本間, at least I think that's the kanji for his surname. 29 years old, and a totally normal guy. phew.

I can't think if there's anything I forgot to add on here so Good Nite again. :D

千五百: Less than a month to go

I'm home!

The plane touched down at 2205 right on time last night, and my parents & sis were waiting at the budget terminal for me. The flight was alright, about an hour plus, & I just played my DS the whole ride through. There were almost no empty seats on the flight though, surprised that there are so many sgporeans who were at krabi the same week. It was horrible to have to say goodbye to Ryo again, as his flight to Bangkok left earlier, my eyes couldn't help tearing as he turned around to wave goodbye to me when they announced for the Air Asia flight to board. (T.T) Whoever made up the saying "Parting is such sweet sorrow" (Shakespeare?) probably was parting with his enemy. What sweet?! At least I've booked my ticket and we'll be meeting again in about a month's time in Osaka. sighz. & now its just back to the familiar feeling of emptiness inside, not having him around to hug / kiss whenever I want to, or with him around to laugh at me when I say silly stuff.

I'm now suffering from abit of heat rash. Take this as a lesson never to overdo the sun tan.

Came home to a pile of unpaid bills. from last month actually. not so bad but I usually like clear them as soon as they come so I had to sit down and write out the cheques to pay them off last night else they'll be sitting on my head until I get them done. abit of a bills freak there.

& I hate unpacking the luggage. argh. But I am glad to be back to Sg where there isn't burning and glaring sunlight. I don't really dread going back to work, since I actually don't like to do nothing for too long. at least it will keep me from thinking too much until the next trip. :D

& it'll be my birthday end of this month!! can't wait, cos Ryo has gotten me the wallet I wanted from Coach I told him about. :D He tot the LV wallet was too expensive, so I told him about this one which was sold out in Sg. Then we walked around the shops in Thailand trying to find it but it was sold out there too. :( Then I finally managed to find it in Japan, an online shop that had imported from USA, and he bought the only piece left in that store. :D :D so happy! so we will celebrate a belated bday in Oct for me and and early one for him. :p

Try this game: http://flightsimx.archive.amnesia.com.au/ . J sent me the link and its quite addictive. my best score is 107.888m, ranking 4483.but I can't repeat that and the best I could do after that was like 83m. argh.

ok on to more unpacking...

P.S. More photos have been uploaded in the Thailand photo album: http://www.flickr.com/photos/alexxis/sets/72157601671095599/

千四百九十九: Packing

It's not fair that the weather is so good these 2 days!!

Yesterday I baked myself at the pool the whole day, then I went to get myself a facial treatment at the hotel's spa (The Villa Spa) and it felt soooo shiok. I haven't done a facial in months ad I dunno whether she really cleaned up my pores but the face massaging was really super relaxing. Then I did a foot scrub too, as there was a discount for hotel guests. :D

The beach became more and more beautiful..

The sky is just so blue. I had a very very good week here. I'll definitely come back here if I have the chance to with Ryo again.
