warmer days

this week the temperature suddenly turned warmer. about 10 degrees. after 2 months of being 2 degrees celsius, this temperature feels deliciously warm. can wear short jacket instead of a heavy coat. and i'm perspiring again in the train! woohoo!

its been raining actually, for 2 days liao.. and i like it. even though 10 degrees still very cold, it actually isn't after u been thru months of 2 degrees. it means you can wear one layer less, you can wear less socks, u can wear t-shirt inside ur jacket instead of wool.. no need to wear scarf or gloves.. hoho...

and it means i can walk around naked in my room again! hohoho..

okie.. been really really lazy in posting this weekend. anyway.. my major proj was like over (for the time being) on friday after i sent out the template to everyone. and someone caught mistakes almost immediately. ....

but anyway.. went for the 2nd makeup lesson during the weekend and i seriously suck at putting on eyeliner. so difficult!! how to put on something on ur eye with just one eye open?! but anyway, the weekend was ok, except for the ultra boring dinner. i was quite angry that it was so disorganised. i was late because i couldn't find the place and when i found it, there were only seats btw strangers left. so the whole nite (2 hours only) i sat at the reception area. and didn't see much of anything like the couple video or wat. oh well. and i didn't get to eat much too. very very irritated. so the dinner ended at like 8? and i was like thinking i would just leave and no one would notice. bah. won't go to any of these stupid dinners anymore. the only consolation was that everyone said i looked really pretty and my dressing was quite cool. hehehe..

so after the dinner, came back to Ryo who was waiting for me to get dinner for him. haiz. there was no rice left in my room and after the horrible dinner and the whole wkend of cleaning & cooking, i seriously had no mood to cook anymore. and the dishes were still unwashed at the sink. so i asked him to wash the dishes but he said if need to wash then no need to cook. so i was like .. haiz.sianz half. and i was like really tired liao so i guess it took alot of effort to not quarrel with him or wat. in the end cooked some soup with whatever the fridge had (soup is easy, just dump everything into water and u get soup) and then luckily i had bought kimchi so at least in the end had something. so .. managed to fill his stomach & everything was ok again. :s men are such babies. haiz.

after that armageddon was showing on TV and i realised i had nv watched it before. yah i noe singapore tv showed it alot of times but yesterday was the first time i really watched the whole show. everytime i only watched a little here and there. hmm.. but apparently, this is his fav show. and other earth doomsday type show, like independence day. something to know i guess..

super suay girls

i realise a similarity in most of the AVs. the girl who gets raped once will get raped again. and again. albeit by different groups of men but she will definitely get raped at least twice. b4 finally getting some good sex at the end. ahh. the cinderella story. sufferings b4 enjoyment. hmm. perhaps they have the tragic look? and these AV ladies. they are just pleasant looking, not knockouts, with maybe a C cup, and fleshy generally , sometimes flabby. hmm... i guess if u really are a real beauty, u wouldn't be doing AVs i suppose.

today finally finished the budgeting work. WOOHOO! my sup is happy and i am happy i managed to impress him. i hope his boss is also impressed because it will really affect probably my pay scale next time. some idiot who was too dumb to read another file/understand the file almost caused me to have to redo my work. because he requested to include all those info at like 4pm, i felt really pissed off and i had to persuade my sup that it was really redundant and all it would do was to increase the file size and loading time. if u really wanted to know the details, u should read the other file. simple as that. this is just a summary document!! dumbass. luckily, my sup saw my point and he managed to persuade the boss of the guy who requested the changes that it wasn't necessary at all. phew. close shave and i really could finally consider the piece of thing finished. yay!

yay! friday tomorrow! finally dinner with Ryo and then the weekend. woohoO!

columbine high

watching the reenactment of the columbine high shootings now. its very very horrible. the worst happened to the good kids who were studying in the library. they hid under the tables and the killers just walked around shooting under the tables without even looking to see who was there. haiz. and some kids were barely 15 years old. very very tragic. why they allow guns in a country where the terrorist risk is soooo high now? what about internal terrorism??

and i discovered a channel that shows adult shows after 10pm. hohoho. for the past few days, its been showing shows about a female driving instructor and her sad life. yesterday's episode was about her bf cheating on her. and he always never answer her calls. & she has to masturbate because she is so lonely... and how in the male-dominated driving industry (and her office) she got raped twice by her collegues. (#-.-#) hee hee.. but at the end, her driving student becomes her fren and on one of the lessons, they caught the bf and the girl he was sneaking around with crossing the road hand-in-hand. .... and she becomes very depressed. but... when all seems dark, the student comes to her place to tell her he has passed his driving! yay! and ... she hugs him to congratulate him and then... the hug lingers a little too long.. and becomes full fledged wonderful sex for 10 min of screen time. hoho... at least this had a story. i tot it would be a love story or wat at the end.. but in the end she just cheers up and they part happily with her having a better outlook of life. hohohohoho....

at work. my boss is super impressed with my excel document. because i managed to shrink a humongous file of 20 MB into 5MB and recalculatable. wahaha. of cos start to end its my own work with his input, but this is major work, cos its the base for the budgeting of next year's titles. his old file that i was supposed to was all manual keying in of numbers. and he told me to automate all the figures from another table. hoho. and of cos i did it! hehe.. he has now deemed me able to proceed with more responbsibilities than b4 and key work in planning the company's R&D schedules and budget shall be entrusted to me in the future. hohohoho!

procrastination

been procrastinating bout posting. usually i'll blog at work but its been busy these few days that i haven't had much time to slack and post up anything at all. i finally have the hair length of jennifer aniston in friends!! hoho!HOHO ! but its realli hard to manage and its of cos not as smooth & silky as hers but I'm trying hard to change that. but aniway. the expression on his face was worth it! i took off my jacket (cos my hair was under it) and then he was like huh? wats the surprise? then i turned around and he was just looking blindly, not knowing wat changed until it suddenly registered that OMIGOD! your hair is waist length! ok la.. not waist length but at least mid back. wahahah..! he was like How? how? how did that happen? and i just smiled secretly hehe. but yah.. yesterday was like makeover day. in the morning, i went for the makeup lesson he wanted me to join and it was quite enlightening although i still think doing everything is very troublesome, waste time and bad for my face although i really looked very very good after that. learnt some stuff i nv knew too.. basically the trick was to give the face a 3D feeling and bright and healthy. but .. theory is one thing but doing is really another. the eyes are the hardest part i feel, esp the eyeliner part. the mascara i kept messing up oso.. its realli easy to get the mascara on the face instead of the eyelash by accident. darn. must learn to get more steady hands.

bouncing back

yay! after much fixing for an hour last night, managed to complete the damn excel in 2 hours this morning and send it to my boss b4 i had to go collect my Japanese visa for the rest of the stay in japan. trainee visa, not VISA card visa. but he was impressed, although the file was too full with formulas because i had to do if-then-else checks for almost all the cells. but .. anyway.. had to do some other super tedious work of checking files for changes made, records of almost all the employees in the R&D building. i almost fainted doing that.. there were 8 files to be checked and about 600 records to be checked if there were any changes in each record as compared to the original master file. not difficult but ... haiz.. super tedious. did it in 3 hours.. luckily i didn't push it to tomorrow, because only at the end when i had shown my sup the work was finished he asked me to combine all the changed details into a new master file. almost fainted but i guess its just work that some one should have written a program for doing such thing long ago...

super dulan

excel sux. big time.

there was a file i had been working on for the whole day and suddenly, some thing corrupted when i was saving it at the end of the day and it was replaced by another file that was open. 9MB of formulas all gone. haiz. too depressed to write anything more.

interesting blogs

looking at other blogs cos i been playing the Sims the whole day and i got a baby in the SimS! yay! first time i didn't kill off any characters by sloppiness or wat.. but its super difficult to manage 3 characters.. papa Qoo, mama Qoo & baby Qoo. hee :)
apparently its easier to start a kid from young cos he can learn all these skills b4 he becomes an adult..

okie.. so i'm going back to the game now. wahahah!

Peking Duck

paiseh.. sorry to all the people who msged me when i online and i nv replied today. i was playing the Sims 2 and my comp has only 256MB ram so i couldn't multitask, ie, if i switched windows the damn game would hang. :s paiseh paiseh.

but.. since i am here, and not ski-ing, the ski plans were changed. because of the dumb weather. it was raining like mad yesterday, so the ski-ing was like put on hold and we called them to ask they said the conditions were bad for ski-ing cos of the slushy snow, and today it was too warm (12 degreeS?) so obviously the snow wasn't any good as well so i guess it was actually a relief for me to have Ryo himself cancel the ski trip. oh, and his frens got flu one by one and backed out so it would have been only us anyway. too bad.

had my first facial in jApan yesterday at a place cheaper than most and it felt great. my face is sooo smooth now and i think i fell asleep in there. hehe.. but the face massage thing felt really goood. think i shall make this a monthly affair if possible. if i dun pamper and take care of my skin when young, wait until old meh?

had some fight yesterday and battle of wills apparently. he was being his stupid self bout not letting other staff of the company see him, and 2 idiots were planning wireless games in the lobby. he could actually have entered without being noticed since the 2 people were so engrossed in their games but he refused to and told me to prepare dinner first. so i prepared and waited and waited. for 2 hours. and obviously, gamers would play until at least 3 - 4 am before retiring to their rooms on a saturday night. ... so i was duper pissed off at his childishness and i just stood in the cold with only a normal t-shirt and some cotton pants and said i would wait there until he went up. he let me stand there for an hour b4 making a move to ask me to go into the car and an hour half b4 he even got out of the car to try to move me physically. b4 that, he just sat in his warm car and watched me stand there shivering. i couldn't believe what a jerk he was being. until like about 2 hours later, at 2+am, where my dinner was still getting cold in the room, i think i couldn't stand up anymore and keeled over and he finally came over and scooped me up and pushed me into the car. and tried to rub warmth into my freezing arms and back. he didn't make any move to go up and i went out into the cold again but i didn't last very long this time. had to had him pick me up when i fell over again. i guess you just lose ur senses when u become too cold. but at least i noe u wont die if you stand in the cold for 2 hours plus. .. haiz, lose alot of heart in this relationship suddenly. he has been showing a lot of Jerk factor recently. alot. i give in until i'm so tired and my principles / char have been worn down until i cannot just keep quiet liao.

but, things are sorta back to normal in the morning. went shopping late afternoon for an outfit for my colleague's weddin party next week, cos this is like the last day of winter sales in Japan. managed to buy a pretty great skirt, only bout $20 hehe. didn't see any top i like, but bought 2 bohemian styled tops from ZARA. oso having a sale by the way heh.. after which we went to a Peking Duck restaurant. had been craving for some ever since i started having cable tv cos Discovery Channel keeps showing programs about imperial banquets and famous dishes of China. everytime i'll be drooling while watching these shows. the place we went to was pretty good and they undercharged me! i didn't realise until i was at the escalator and i was like it looked a little empty, the receipt until i realised they didn't charge me for the soup! oops. in japan thats like 1200 yen, about $17 for a small bowl and it was a substantial amt of non-payment for me.. so .. of cos we hurried away in case they realised. hehe.. but too bad lor. i didn't not pay on purpose, they counted wrongly themselves. my duty is only to pay what they tell me wor. :s but the food was delicious actually, spare ribs etc. the Peking duck slices should have been thicker though ahah. they really only gave us the skin damn it. where got any taste without the fats?! oh well.. i must eat it back in singapore again. so 2 of us chalked up a bill of bout 7700 yen, about S$120? yah.. only 5 dish meal lor.. one bowl of rice is 200yen ($3?) in almost all eating places. and one dish is bout 1500 yen ($25). so a meal of 5000-6000 yen outside is the norm. :s

been super busy at work no time to blog for these few days. i hate excel! excel 2000 at least.. the functions are weird and i had to figure out a super long formula which took me half the day to think up. worn out my brain terribly. but at least i properly did a piece of work which was pretty much ok on the first try. woohoO! ok la, but things been not too good with Ryo. have been having some unhappiness which hasn't been solved yet.. don't feel like going ski-ing but i guess it will only make things worse. at least because i completed my work today, i can happily take the off day on Monday. and because i gave the presents for his baby to my sup.. i think he is happy too! hahaha..

cable TV

finally set up the SkyPerfect TV tuner with minimal help from Ryo. the only thing he did was to help wrench the antenna stand to fit my balcony wall. the rest of the time he was sleeping and looking sullen when i said i wanted to try somemore. in the end, i was the one who set up the DVD recorder oso, and i spent last night figuring out how to record shows on it. one of the major problems i discovered was that it wasn't possible to record 2 diff channels at the same time slot. ... quite important that function is..

but i must say, have watched alot of interesting programs just in these 2 days. my favourite channel is discovery channel, followed by National Geographic channel then the reality TV channel. watched a program on 911 terrorism, demonic possession, the building of Petronas Towers in Malaysia, the Empress Dowager's banquets and on Reality TV channel, watched a cop show on vices in Hollywood, and caught some reruns of old movies like Hellboy and Sleepy Hollow. hee hee.. now at least i have something to look forward to when i go home (^-^)

lazy bum

ahh been very lazy in posting up the pics from kyoto. zz

and have nothing much to blog about these few days except that work has become considerably easier now that i've done it more than a few times.

ooh and my boss seemed very surprised to have me sent a new year card to him and greeted him happy new year on the first day back to work yesterday.. i guess japanese people are very very proud of their culture after all. He was quite happy when i gave them tidbits from hokkaido liaoz and i guess these sort of sealed the good impression i've been giving him. He was asking me since when did i learnt i was supposed to do such things (like greet the boss on New Year Day first thing in the morning, send new year cards to ur boss and write in polite Japanese, give tidbits to your colleagues after taking a holiday..) hee hee i couldn't possibly say Ryo told me all these things right? so i just said, everybody gave me tidbits when they went on holiday so it was polite to give them something when i took a holiday too blah blah and then he said it was great that i seemed to have learnt so much regarding their customs and told me to ganbatte in the new year in my work. hee hee! like a huge pat on the back and he smiles at me in the morning nowadays too when he used to just sorta ignored me in the past. (^-^) so happy! and all the other superiors/mgmt people who received my cards were pleasantly surprised i guess, even the CFO, and he sent me a card back! all thanks to Ryo!! muakzzz!!! i guess he really has been a great mentor to me in terms of jAp office business manners and EQ in the Jap office. besides money matters etc as well. dinner with him tomorrow and its a long weekend again (monday's a Public Holiday again! YAY!) can't wait!!

have received about 10 cards liaoz and most are from people i actually wanted to receive cards from. feeling pretty happy to come back home and receive like 2 / 3 cards everyday. hopefully this good start to the year will persist.

2006

Happy New year!

i apologise for the lack of updates but i've been pretty much outdoors ever since my sister & her bf came from hokkaido. Been sightseeing with them and after that spending New year at Ryo's place doing nothing much but watching tV.

aniway.. sis came on 29th evening, 29th daytime was spent helping Ryo clean up his room for New year. had dinner for the first time in his place, it was quite delicious cept for the leftover onions on the plate. felt quite embarrassed for doing that but i really can't eat them or i'll die!! haha.. but that day was clouded by flu and fever, the kind where u can't stop the nose dripping & u just keep sneezing no matter what. anyway.. picked up my sis & calvin her bf at the station and we had くら寿司 conveyor belt sushi for a late dinner. when they came to my room, realised it was abit cramped but lucky i borrowed the sleeping bag cos he totally used it.

so the next day we went around Osaka, me oso buying the umlimited bus rides tickets cos entrance was included and it was quite fun cos we went to places where i haven't been to too.

wei & me at Nankinmachi (kobe Chinatown)

Brought them to Chinatown in Kobe, after that we had lunch at a porridge restaurant i didn't know existed. it was pretty good, realised i missed chinese food alot though u would never catch me eating porridge in Singapore at all.. now mentioning it, i have such a huge craving for Frogs' legs porridge from Geylang... (T.T) anyway.. we went to tennoji 四天王寺、one of the major temples in Osaka,

me at 四天王寺

we also went to 2 radio towers, one near the temple

通天閣
通天閣

and one near Umeda.

floating garden observatory
we were at the top of that round structure right at the top!

the Umeda one is a famous observatory sky garden tower at the 40th storey and it was pretty scary at nite cos the elevators were hanging in mid air. scary shit especially if you're afraid of heights. but the scenery were breathtaking.
IMG_6627

we wanted to go to the zoo Tennoji Zoo and the art museum tennoji Art Museum but everything was closed during this year end new year holidays...

and we also chanced upon Japan's Yangtze cinema:

Japanese Yangtze cinema
the rightmost poster's title says "my best friend's shy mom" hehehe..

then we went to Kyoto 清水寺 the next day with ryo and we had breakfast at Mac's cos Calvin was craving fast food. then we set off to kYoto and we spent quite a bit of time sampling food at the various shops.. cos they had hot tea for free oso and it was super cold in Kyoto so i guess everyone hanged around the shop for that reason.but we went to the temple, it was quite crowded cos every one was doing some last minute prayers for the new year. after that we went to 平安神宮. i love this place cos its soo big and its free entry! haha.. but we had alot of food that day.. ate Okonomiyaki for lunch, rice cake desserts for tea, and korean bbq for dinner. all Ryo's treat. :s quite paiseh, but since i asked and he declined me paying him, i let him. and then at nite, we went to another temple, can't rem the name and they were having pasar malam for people who were going to countdown there. at nite, slept throught the countdown program cos i was soo tired from the night b4 when i had met the other singaporean trainees after i had come back from the sightseeing and they went to chit chat and eat until 4.30 am . zzzz.

but past 2 days of new year spent at Ryo's place. not to bai nian, they dun do that here, but just to have meals and say hi to his parents and after that laze in the room and play games and watch TV the whole day. the programs are very interesting during new year, alot of comedy variety shows. been playin Kingdom hearts 2 too.. getting stuck again cos of unknown goals. gr.. i will perservere!! but anyway.. photos at flickr.. take a look!
